WWE SmackDown Live Results (08/14): SummerSlam Go-Home Show

Tonight’s episode of SmackDown Live opens up from The Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, South Carolina. Tom Phillips welcomes us to the show. He is joined by Corey Graves and Byron Saxton.
We go right to the ring and out first comes Charlotte Flair as Greg Hamilton does the introductions. Tom Phillips tells us from the broadcast table that AJ Styles is here tonight to address Samoa Joe one more time before their SummerSlam Match on Sunday. Becky Lynch is out next, followed by SmackDown Women’s Champion Carmella.
Carmella starts by saying that almost as absurd as defending her title in a Triple Threat Match at SummerSlam is Paige forcing her to come out here tonight for this face-to-face-to-face. Carmella then says that she is tired of their faces and tired of being constantly punished for being such an amazing champion. But hey, she is champion, so life is good. Carmella then says that she wants to talk about something everyone is thinking and that is that poor Becky Lynch doesn’t stand a chance now.

Carmella then says that she used to be a clown for a living and she should think about going back because it’s the one thing she does better than Charlotte. Becky admits that she would rather not have Flair in the match, but only because she’s an incredible athlete. Lynch then says that she was losing sleep about dismantling Carmella, and when Charlotte got added into the match she needed a new dream, and added whooping Flair to her dream of beating Carmella.
Carmella cackles about how she beat Charlotte twice and runs down her accolades, and Flair cuts her off and says that the lies and the cheating ends at SummerSlam, and she’s pulled out all the stops to retain, digging James Ellsworth up to beat Asuka, and she wonders why no one respects her. Maybe it’s because she’s a Diva living in a women’s era.
Carmella cops to the notion and asks them to compare their beauty, bodies, and charisma to theirs, and further, she’s the champ and they are not.
SmackDown Live General Manager Paige heads out. She says that The WWE Universe owes Carmella a big thank you for losing to Charlotte and setting up the Triple Threat Match, and she knows they’re going to steal the show. Paige then says that as general manager it’s her duty to create the best competition for SmackDown, so why wait until Sunday to see what they do best. Paige then says that for Carmella that’s talking, so she sends her to the announce desk. Paige then says that Flair and Becky will show Carmella how it’s done in a tag team match. Paige then introduces their opponents and out first comes Mandy Rose. Sonya Deville is out next.

The tag team match will begin after the commercial break.
