Just recently, The Rock released the trailer for his upcoming action film Skyscraper, and “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” is still dominating the box office after being in theaters for several weeks. As if Dwayne Johnson did not have enough lined up on his schedule already, he recently announced the launch of a new competition reality series that he will be hosting on NBC later on this year. The Rock announced on The Tonight Show last night that he and his Seven Bucks Productions company will be producing The Titan Games. The first season of the show will last for 10 weeks. Shooting begins in September and the show will likely premiere in 2019. Variety published the following additional details about the show earlier today:

“Billed as an opportunity for everyday people to test mind, body, and heart, ‘The Titan Games’ will feature challengers from across the United States, each competing in an arena against one of six reigning Titans. A contestant who wins will take the defeated Titan’s place as one of the show’s half-dozen mainstays. At season’s end, the six Titans will engage in an epic battle to determine the male and female champions.”
Tommy Dreamer is another wrestling star who has managed to keep himself busy in recent years. In Dreamer’s case, he has been running his House of Hardcore promotion, occasionally producing for Impact Wrestling, and he also continues to wrestle sporadically. It looks like the next stop in his career may be at an upcoming event for the National Wrestling Alliance. NWA President Billy Corgan announced earlier today that current NWA Champion Nick Aldis will be putting his title on the line against the former ECW star very soon. The match will be streaming live on Twitch, and it will be taking place during the next House of Hardcore event in Philadelphia on March 24th.
Wrestling fans were pleasantly surprised to see the return of Rey Mysterio in WWE during the men’s Royal Rumble match a few weeks ago. Mysterio got himself into tremendous shape and the fans in Philadelphia gave him a standing ovation when he returned, but the appearance is still said to be a one-off at the moment. During a recent interview with the UK Mirror, Mysterio commented on possibly joining WWE again someday by stating, “I want to say that there is a big possibility that I will be back. [We’re] figuring out what the situation is, you know from both ends. But there is definitely a positive feedback on behalf of the fans, on behalf of the WWE staff and behalf of myself man.” It sounds like Mysterio could definitely be coming back if he and the company can agree on terms for a new contract. “I think we’re possibly going to sit down and negotiate something where we can both work together and have a good time and enjoy.” Mysterio said.
