Rey Mysterio Not Appearing at WrestleMania, PWG Update, Jeff Cobb

It has been rumored for a while now that Rey Mysterio is on his way back to WWE. The masked superstar has reportedly been negotiating with Triple H over the past few weeks on a new deal that will see him return to the company as soon as possible. Numerous fans have speculated that Mysterio could be competing at WrestleMania in some capacity, but the man himself has now denied that he will be appearing at the event at all this year. Mysterio recently confessed on “Below the Belt” with Brendan Schaub that his current arm injury will prevent him from competing on the show in two weeks. Perhaps Mysterio will return to WWE right after his arm injury heals instead.

Pro Wrestling Guerilla recently confirmed that they will no no longer be hosting events in the American Legion Hall located in Reseda, California. The building had been the promotion’s home for a number of years, but since PWG just finished hosting shows in the much larger Globe Theatre building in Downtown Los Angeles, fans speculated that the promotion had outgrown the American Legion Hall. SoCal Uncensored has reported that the building was actually sold recently. PWG did apparently try to schedule shows in the building for June, but were unable to do so because the building could be torn down as per the sale. PWG confirmed that the final shows in the building will take place on April 20th, April 21st, and on May 25th of this year.

One of the most entertaining and dynamic independent wrestlers in the world today is Jeff Cobb. While Cobb has made himself known to a television audience as Matanza Cueto on Lucha Underground, the wrestler has mostly continued to wrestle independently for much of his career. He recently teased on Twitter that he had signed a deal with New Japan Pro Wrestling, but the Wrestling Observer Newsletter now claims that he has actually been offered a deal by Impact Wrestling. Cobb is now believed to be free of his Lucha Underground duties and is a free agent. With several promotions now fighting to sign Cobb, it will be interesting to see where he ends up next.
