Real Housewives Star Accused Of Improper Sexual Contact, Assault

POTOMAC, MD — Michael Darby, husband of “Real Housewives of Potomac” star Ashley Darby, faces a second-degree assault charge and a fourth-degree sexual offense charge for allegedly groping a show cameraman on Sept. 1 in Montgomery County.

TMZ first reported on the charges, saying in an article that the cameraman, Orville Palmer, claimed Darby allegedly groped him. He told the publication he instructed Darby to stop before telling his supervisor. Palmer is named as a complainant in court records.

According to Ashley’s biography online, the couple met after Ashley scored the Miss District of Columbia Pageant crown in 2011. Darby is his wife’s senior by 29 years. The pair married after four years of dating, and Ashley, then 22, became stepmother to Darby’s then 24- and 26-year-old children.

The Washington Post reported in July 2017 that the couple had split up, but in an August 2018 interview, Ashley told RHOP producer Andy Cohen that the pair were “in a much better place” despite mourning a recent miscarriage.

Michael Darby is slated to appear in court in Rockville on Oct. 16.
