WWE will once again pay tribute to the Starrcade legacy with a one-hour live special on the WWE Network, broadcast live from the Infinite Energy Center in Duluth, GA.
WWE has run live events under the Starrcade banner for the last two years, first at the historic Greensboro Coliseum in 2017, and last year at the U.S. Bank Arena in Cincinnati, in order to improve ticket sales. They were both held the last week in November, paying tribute to the original NWA events that were held on Thanksgiving Day until moving – ironically because WWF used cable providers to push them out of the date – in 1988.

While no matches have been announced for this year’s version of the show, Seth Rollins, Becky Lynch, Kofi Kingston, Bayley, Charlotte Flair, Sasha Banks, Roman Reigns, AJ Styles and Daniel Bryan are all advertised. Only the final hour of the live event will be broadcast on the WWE Network.
While Duluth isn’t exactly an historic destination as far as past NWA Starrcade events, The Omni in Atlanta was an incredibly important building for the promotion for many years. While the building was demolished and replaced in the late 90s, the Infinite Energy Center where this year’s show will be held is only about 30 minutes away.
