NWA Title Defences In The UK; WOS Wrestling Cancel Upcoming Tour Dates

— NWA World Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis is currently touring the UK, defending the title in sanctioned bouts at different British independent companies. His first defence was against British deathmatch worker Jimmy Havoc for IPW:UK last Sunday, whilst his next two will be for WAW (the promotion run by the family of WWE’s Paige) this Friday night, and then on Saturday he’s in Preston for PCW where he takes on World of Sport star Iestyn Rees. He currently has no scheduled defence for the Sunday, but PROGRESS wrestling are running a “mystery” event, where no wrestlers or matches are announced ahead of time, and they always like to make a big splash with at least one shocking appearance.

— Speaking of World of Sport and Iestyn Rees, the tour stemming from the TV revival “WOS Wrestling” has been shortened from a 9-date tour to just 6-dates. The cancelled shows, which will take place throughout January and the beginning of February, are in the towns of Bourneouth (Jan 20), Aberdeen (Jan 27) and Scarborough (Feb 1st). All 6 other dates are still listed on the official WOS website as going ahead; those shows are in Southampton, Newport, Stoke, Blackpool, Northampton and finally at the prestigious York Hall in the nation’s capital, London.
