More on Jericho at WK12, Impact Departure, Taryn Terrell Update

New Japan Pro Wrestling recently made the shocking announcement that Chris Jericho will battle Kenny Omega at Wrestling Kingdom 12 in January. As far as Jericho’s WWE status is concerned, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Jericho’s contract expired at Wrestlemania 33, but he re-signed for another month to drop the US title. He worked without a contract when he competed in Japan on WWE live events in the summer. Chris Jericho’s NJPW appearance is said to be a one-off at the moment. PWInsider reports that Jericho did clear the match with WWE first and, in fact, Jericho is expected to return to WWE in 2018, possibly as early as Raw’s 25th Anniversary show.
It was recently reported that James Storm left Impact Wrestling and gave a farewell speech to the crowd during his last night with the company. He, Rockstar Spud, Bram, Earl Hebner, and countless others have all left the company recently. It appears now that Jessie Godderz can be added to the list of Impact departures this year. This departure may not be as shocking considering that Godderz has not appeared on television since January. His profile was removed from the roster section of the Impact Wrestling roster this past summer, but the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has confirmed that Godderz is now completely gone. No word on whether he was released or left on his own.
Taryn Terrell recently returned to Impact Wrestling, but Impact announced her departure not too long after she returned. It appears that injuries and visa issues may have factored into her choice to leave the company. Impact claimed that she received a concussion and had to be taken off the Bound for Glory pay-per-view. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter claims that she legitimately suffered a concussion after receiving a slap from Gail Kim. In addition to the injury, she also had visa issues when she tried to enter Canada. These two factors apparently caused Terrell to rethink her choice to return to Impact and she eventually decided to leave.
