Kane officially announced his intent to run for Knox County mayor Tuesday at Sweet Pea’s Barbecue of Knoxville, Tennessee.
The Devil’s Favorite Demon, known as Glenn Jacobs in his personal life, will run as a Republican in an election to be held May 1, 2018.
In East Tennessee, Kane is known for his thriving insurance business, Jacobs Insurance Associates. He moved to Knoxville a year ago, but has been a Tennessee resident for the past decade.
He has not made an official comment on what his political aspirations mean for his wrestling career. There is speculation that Kane may have wrestled his last match. He hasn’t appeared on WWE TV since being injured on SmackDown Live in a victory over Baron Corbin last November.
