Elijah Cummings eyes Ivanka and Trump Jr. for House Oversight hearings

The chair of the House committee that grilled Michael Cohen wants to hear from other witnesses — including first children Ivanka Trump and Donald Trump Jr.

House Oversight Committee Chairman Elijah Cummings said Thursday that the panel will also seek to interview several of the people whom Cohen mentioned during his six-hour testimony, including the Trumps and Trump Organization CFO Allen Weisselberg, Axios reported.

“All you have to do is follow the transcript. If there are names that were mentioned or records that were mentioned during the hearing, we want to take a look at all of that,” Cummings told reporters.

President Trump’s former lawyer and fixer testified that he believed Trump Jr. and Weisselberg signed one of the $35,000 checks that reimbursed him for a hush-money payment to porn star Stormy Daniels, who said she had a fling with President Trump in 2006.

Cohen also said he briefed Trump Jr. and his sister about Trump Tower Moscow roughly 10 times, though Trump Jr. told the Senate Intelligence Committee in 2017 that he was just “peripherally aware” of the project.

The big picture: Cummings told reporters the committee would “take a look at” all of the names that Cohen mentioned, and that they have “a good chance of hearing from us — at least an interview,” Politico reported.

Cohen also mentioned Trump’s longtime assistant Rhona Graff, adviser Roger Stone, ex-campaign manager Corey Lewandowski and attorneys Jay Sekulow and Rudy Giuliani, among others.
