Charlotte Added to SummerSlam Match, Vega’s 1st Win, MLW Signings

Charlotte Flair has been away from the ring for quite some time now due to two ruptured breast implants that she received during a match earlier this year. Flair finally decided to take time off from WWE to address her injuries and receive surgery, but she had recently told Maria Menounos that she would be cleared to return to wrestle on July 31st. WWE certainly wasted no time getting Flair back on television since she made her return during last night’s edition of Smackdown. Flair faced and defeated current Smackdown Women’s Champion Carmella during the show, which led to Smackdown General Manager Paige announcing that Flair will be added to the women’s title match between Carmella and Becky Lynch at SummerSlam, thus making the match a Triple Threat.

After some trash-talking back and fourth on social media over the past week, Smackdown General Manager Paige announced a few days ago that Lana and Zelina Vega would be competing in a match on Smackdown this week. Vega took part in a few matches during her time in NXT, but she had not wrestled on Raw or Smackdown prior to yesterday’s show. During last night’s episode of Smackdown, the business associate of Andrade “Cien” Almas made her official WWE main roster in-ring debut and she received her first win by defeating “The Ravishing Russian.” Almas and Vega have just secured another victory over the Rusev Day trio, and it seems like this may only be the beginning of their rivalry.

Major League Wrestling is one of the fastest rising wrestling promotions in the United States with viewers and digital content on the rise, as well as the fact that the promotion features some incredibly talented performers. It now appears that MLW is looking to get some of their usual talents signed to contracts. PWInsider has just reported that former MLW Heavyweight Champion Shane Strickland has already singed a long-term contract with the promotion, and it was also mentioned that MLW is hoping to sign several more performers to deals soon as well. Hopefully, this is a sign that the MLW promotion will continue to grow and prosper as more roster members become mainstays over the next few months.
